9. Great news!! Such a SICK game it’s a shame that the online is so ropey!

   My personal favourite; how much of a pain is it when you FIIIIIIINALLY get into a game and you run about for 5 seconds and it ends because “host ended game”.

10. people dont understand the reason why we wait so long online is that there arent enough players on the ps3 as suppossed to the 360 which probly has atleast 4 times more players so sad to say 360 version gets matches quicker… but i still think call of duty 4 is better on the ps3 aside from that…

    Are you stupid? I have both version and Live currently has around 400,000 - 500,000 people who have played online. The PS3 has 300,000 - 350,000, So how did you get et 4X the amount? Also the waiting has nothing to do withthe amount of people online, Its because alot of people have NAT 3. But because COD4 is one of the first games using P2P on the PS3. These people who never had problems with any other games with dedicated servers are getting all of these problems because NAT3 restricts people from accessing uploading from your PS3. Which means issues in connecting to other peoples games and other people accessing your info. It has nothing to do with the amount of people online because i have never had an issue connecting to games and i’m NAT2. The Host left the game problem and dispearing clan tags and custom classes still exist but no connection trouble.

12. First of all i love your game and think it is the best game i ever played espacially Online. But of course i got a few little problems from the first day i put the game in my PS3:
    Everytime i start the online Mode the game won´t give me my real Level (which is like 29 or 30) instead i have to waste a half an hour playing as Level 5 and after a few games (normally 2 or 3) i´m able to play with my real Level but if i leave the online mode only once i need to wait again until my real Level displays again, what is going on?????????

13. On average I have to wait 2 minutes to get a game going… things should be better when the patch introduces host migration.

    Sounds like a Microsoft strategy to me; release something half-baked and let the general public do the bug-testing for you.

    I never thought it would happen to the games industry, but it’s a direct result of the diversity into things like on-line gaming.

    Get used to patches, people. It’s going to become the norm, I’m afraid.

    The age of just sticking the disc in and it working are numbered, it seems.

15. I don’t believe the waiting for game issue is all due to a NAT2 or NAT3 type. I have a NAT2 and I still have problems connecting to some of my friends, who are all type 3 ansd they have little to no trouble connecting to each other or finding games. I really hope the patch does help this problem. The game is awesome nonetheless.

17. I’ve had the game for about a week now, and have only managed to play about 3 or 4 games online. Warhawk, COD3, NHL2K7 all work perfectly online.

    It’s not a NAT thing, and it’s not a peer thing. You can set up peer games in Warhawk with no problem, and I can connect to other peer games.

    Infinity Ward should never have released the PS3 version in this state, and Sony should never had certified it for release.

25. just bought a 40gb ps3 and the game, single player is great but I havent been able to play a game online yet as it just keeps searching for potential matches… left it on for hours and havent been able to play 1 game yet, the online works fine for warhawk and nba 2k8, any fixes for C04 besides the upcoming patch I need to play online as well

32. I got ps3 40gb as a present and 3 days later wanned to try my only game, call of duty 4, online. So i was forced to download 2.03 . Ingame It took up to 6 minnets to find a match, than, after few hours playing PS3 just froze and stopped spinning discs… Game’s, movies, everything… had to send it back…

Well tonight i ranked up to 55 in prostege mode, im on the prestege that looks like an orange dog face with spikes, well anyways, i was in sever cage matches to rank up and get good weps agian, well i made it to levle 5 and opened up creat custom tab, well i customized 2 weps, went into a few more matches, then went to the lobby to play a custome with friends, well when the game started my creat custom tab wouldn’t let me choose my weps, it just gave me the default weps, so i used them till i ranked up to 10, and it still wont let me veiw my challages, my new weps i earned, i have been trying all night to figure out what happend, can somone help me? 37. ive got a 60GB ps3 and cod4 and im level 43. its the best online game EVER - thats only if you can get the useless bloody thing to work. i have such problems getting connected because i have to get up at around 6 oclock to get a place online otherwise if i dont i get: “Unable to connect to Activision Matchmaking (Error 33)” but the annooying thing is my best m8 down the road has a 60gb ps3 and cod4 and he has no probs geting connected. I think it may have something to do with who your internet provider is, im with tiscali broadband and our speed is 8mb (we just upgraded from 3) and my mate down the road has AOL and his is 11mb so if anyone has any clues on why i and millions of others cant get online PLEAASSEEE LET USS KNOOWW!!!!!!!!!!!!

38. just to add to that i have no problems with any of my other games getting online. so what is the reason for why we cant get connected? 1) the servers down at call of duty’s end can’t cope with the amount of people tryin to get on? 2) your internet provider? 3) current ps3 firmware? 4) speed of your internet? 5) NAT type? 44. I owned a 60gb and had no problems. I mate wanted backwards compatability with ps1 and 2 games so he bought me a 40gb and took my old 60gb. It seems to me like the 40gb presents me with that wonderfull “downloading game settings” piece of shizer!!! SO FRUSTRATING!!

47. I have just got this game, and it is awesome - anyway - if any of you are on BT, go to the settings on your pc, go to advanced, then Application Sharing, then UPnP - tick the “use extended sercurity” then apply. Worked for me a charm. Also works for any Xbox360 probs!
