We’ve been on to SCEUK to try and get some idea of what’s going on with PSN updates, and when the content should start to flow more freely. We can’t promise when exactly, but they assure us they will get back to us with a roadmap of sorts of how the PSN will develop. So, more news when we get it…

My guess is they have some big update coming and try to limit the content on the existing platform. Probably a new structure thingy
Comment by Martin — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:44 am
Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact them for SingStar news!?
A lot of people would like to know more about it - I myself was hoping for that August 24th release date, but that seems to have slipped now
Comment by Tony Nibbles — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:45 am
Good work guy’s, look forward to the news
Comment by A Special Mess — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:49 am
Cheers for the update
Comment by Painyboi — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:55 am
Its a good idea on their behalf, because people are getting more and more disenchanted with the PSN, especially as the holiday season approaches. It should be no different to retail games when it comes to release dates.
Comment by Andrew — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:55 am
Sounds good. The US store has just got 2 demos and a shedload of videos and bits. I can’t wait until we get that kind of service!
Comment by Silent_Shark — Aug 17, 2007 @ 10:55 am
Looking forward to getting some decent content but i imagine that with Home supposedly just on the horizon more content will be developed with Home in mind. For example instead of going to the store on the XMB and downloading a demo of Heavenly Sword you would take you Home avatar to Ninja Theory’s Home and ge your demo/media and possibly other little theme based tit-bits to maybe decorate your apartment with. Nariko statuette in the corner of your apartment maybe? or Solid Snake lamp shade?…..Speculation, of course, but give it time and who knows what may apear on the PSN. Good times ahead…i think so!!!
Comment by Nebbs — Aug 17, 2007 @ 11:08 am
It’s bad enough that the EU gets treated so poorly, and that content is SLOOOW to be released, but Sony doesn’t even announce content that is coming, even DAYS before the few items to arrive actually appear.
Comment by russ — Aug 17, 2007 @ 11:09 am
Please sony, just give us Home.
Comment by Terry — Aug 17, 2007 @ 11:24 am
Any road map would be welcome. Even if the release dates are only provisional.
Comment by Mick — Aug 17, 2007 @ 11:28 am
Yep, I’m concerned that home is impacting the releases on PSN. Whats even more concerning is that given the track record on the treatment of Europe, I have a strong feeling we will be the last to see Home, probably months later than other regions
Comment by Mark Thompson — Aug 17, 2007 @ 11:37 am
why the f*ck gets the USA the demo of colin mcrae DIRT first? i mean, come on - its a EUROPEAN game and its even dubbed into the diffrent languages - like german already. why?
Comment by .ram — Aug 17, 2007 @ 12:05 pm
how bout a global PSN store, or atleast one for the English speaking worl (UK,US,Aus), make things a whole lot easier.
Comment by hugZ — Aug 17, 2007 @ 12:09 pm
I think sony europe need to do something i,m a bit tired of seeing everywhere else getting new content but over here, this is there chance to shine because from what there is at the moment my friends arnt convinced to move over from the xbox360,and now is the time to start gearing up towards the main holiday season.
Comment by Andy — Aug 17, 2007 @ 12:12 pm
Thanks for the update, just a little bit of information from Sony goes a long way towards calming the rabid masses. Also my wild optimism is telling me to expect some good stuff on the PSN next week to coincide with Leipzig.
Comment by uberleet — Aug 17, 2007 @ 12:14 pm
You are to be commended, thank you.
At last our voice is heard, it was getting silly.
Comment by Tony Capone — Aug 17, 2007 @ 12:36 pm
Cool! Thanks for asking, on a week when MS/Take 2 give us a demo of the stunning Bioshock (pretty much full 10’s from every review) and all sony offer us is the crappy Armoured Core 4 demo its a bit gutting..
Comment by Mal — Aug 17, 2007 @ 1:47 pm
Thankyou for taking this issue up with them on our behalf thats really cool
Comment by carlg — Aug 17, 2007 @ 1:54 pm
Please ask them why the South African store has not been updated this week - it falls under the EU and normally is updated at the same time
Comment by StrawDog — Aug 17, 2007 @ 2:28 pm
ANy chance of the UK/EU store getting an equivalent of this: http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Store

When are Sony likely to release demos to the store that other people have already played, such as Lair, RaCF:ToD, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and others. If Sony have them, why are they holding them? I personally find that the store has a long way to go, before getting anywhere near the level of service offered by Live, and that waiting for Home to be released before “kicking” it into shape is simply not good enough. I would gladly pay £30-£40 per year to have that same level of service TBH.
Comment by MarkMitt — Aug 17, 2007 @ 5:19 pm
i don’t care as i no it will come at some point and as i have a uk , usa and a jap psn accounts i get all the good stuff but where’s home i wont be happy till home is out and i am using it
its one of the biggest reasons i got a ps3
Comment by headcasephil — Aug 17, 2007 @ 5:53 pm
and to top this,
the US got today the Dirt Demo, and NCAA.
just to perfect demos to show the shortcoming of the SCEE /SCUK,SCNL,SCBEnelux,
take an example of the US,and how the store is being filled, no more excusues,
its time to strap up or to shut up
Comment by Darkie — Aug 17, 2007 @ 8:27 pm
Sounds great, thanks guys!
@25 - I’ve downloaded the Dirt demo. It’s a little disappointing actually. I’d already played the same car and track in the Xbox 360 demo. Surely there must be more to this game than racing beach buggies around a flat, boring track.

Of course there is. It’s a demo, and as such is there to merely give a taste of what is on offer. Don’t forget that the rally sections are very sim oriented, and are very tough on anything but the easy settings.Scour the net for reviews. I think you’ll find that Dirt has scored highly just about everywhere.
Comment by MarkiMitt — Aug 18, 2007 @ 12:47 pm
Thanks three speech.Lets hope we get world wide releases on the psn store soon!
Comment by freller — Aug 18, 2007 @ 1:49 pm
Sony needs to make every region have a universal update every week. People don’t want to make alt. accounts to download demos that they should get in the first place.
Secondly Sony really needs to allow us to organize our demos and games in alphabetical order. I really don’t care for XMB because it won’t happen thanks to Home, trust me.
That is all.
Comment by Liquidus — Aug 18, 2007 @ 8:26 pm
Also, try and find out why they only update it once a week, instead of pushing content out as soon as it is ready?
Comment by DaveC — Aug 18, 2007 @ 8:33 pm
PLZ loads more demos - for all first party games , sonic, spiderman, stranglehold, stuntman ,
basically 2 demos every week
Comment by saddam — Aug 19, 2007 @ 8:31 pm
@26
Yeah I played the dirt demo too, albeit on 360 as I’ve had enough of waiting for Sony & i’m not messing baout setting up new accounts. It isnt actually that good in my opinion, almost boring. Its got very nice graphics but it doesnt feel “right” its too much arcade and not enough sliding about as if your losing control like the old ones. By the time it reaches PS3 it’ll be another 6 month old 360 port - cant wait…
Sony have always like to associate themselves with the more trendy types in society but they need to realise that a lot of promises will not be enough to keep PS3 afloat, in fact if they dont sort it out soon it’ll sink like a rock.
Comment by Terry — Aug 20, 2007 @ 9:44 am
@26 i was able to drive 3 different tracks with a couple of different cars (not only the buggy).
but the point is: why does the EU gets al the delayed crap, and other regions more and faster.
since KILLZONE is gonna be a megaseller/profit generator for sony and is being created by the dutch , i demand (as far as i can demand) that this part of the EU,as being a Dutchie,we want priority!
Comment by Darkie — Aug 20, 2007 @ 5:49 pm
thats true how does usa get dirt wen they dnt even knw wat rally is its a european sport
im puzzled i askd someone u like rally games
he like wats dat..lol
Comment by ali_07 — Aug 22, 2007 @ 11:21 am
So where is the roadmap, have sony delayed it?
Comment by Terry — Aug 22, 2007 @ 2:29 pm
We’re still asking - and hopeful they’ll have something to say shortly.
Comment by Three Speech — Aug 22, 2007 @ 3:08 pm
Sony i use to stick up for you and defined the PS3 but after seeing the Japanese and Hong Kong, USA PS Store its come down to me saying what everyone else is you do not care about people in the UK.
Japanese PS store has so meny PS1 games they have Tekken 2 FPS alot of Plat formers and RPG. they have alot of add ons to boot to like sonic blast factory. what do we have some old demos TV trailers that noone cares about 3 PS1 games 3 addon packs for 3 games Motor storm Ridge Racer 7 and Genji.
What the hell gives you the right to put games on the Playstation Network that don’t work for one Spyro 2 it wont load a level and i’m stoped looking at a black screen.
I wont my Money back.
You say that you want the gamers to have a good experiences on the PS3 all over the world, the only country i see were the gamers ant complaneing is Japan because they get games that don’t get relised in europe games that i for one would like to play and read it in English not Japanese.
We don’t want stupid trailers that we can see on the net or on TV of films. the Japanese site hardly has does they have the Game Movies which i think is Fantastic why the hell did you only bring out Boku no Natsu Yasumi 3 in Japan i was looking forward to that i was even going to buy a copy online when i find out that you can’t change the language to English and that it doesn’t have english sub titles in it i was very angry. Get your act together to gather or get someone new in PR who knows what there doing.
And what happend to Supper Puzzle street fighter HD that was supposed to be a world wide relish why is Europe always last in line we still don’t even have Tekken 5 DR online.
Sony if i have to write a letter to you i will. And if things do not change i will take this as fare as i can just to see that u are trying to in prove things.
If i remember one of Your team members said that the People in Europe don’t mind delays because we don’t make a big fuse a about it. You should make the PS stores update a globule update so we all get the same things at the same time. if u want a big Fuse i’ll give u one if this does change.

[...] Men visst är det konstigt att den europeiska butiken fortfarande ligger så grymt mycket efter? ThreeSpeech har snackat med SCE i England, som har lovat bättring, men frågan är när det kommer att ske. [...]
