As you may have seen on http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6683231.stm, PlayStation’s Eye Camera is finally with us… well maybe not all of us just yet, but it won’t be long. As well as the PSP Eye Camera, Three Speech were also lucky enough to receive the PS3 version, so watch this space, because once we’ve finally stopped playing with it we’ll be updating you with our first impressions.
In the meantime, why don’t you let us know what you think regarding PlayStation’s steps towards the next generation of communication?
Well thats camera actually called the Go-Cam for the PSP. I cannot wait to get this feature, what a great way to chat with internet friends.

I think I’m gonna love the stuff I’ll be able to do with the new PSEye and my PS3
Endless possibilities, I say!
Cheers

Great, looking forward to some exclusive stuff on the PS Eye

Well, communication will only be available near hotspots if you use the PSP. And the thing is still a brick compared to mobile phones (PSP2?). I like the fact of using the PSP Camera. In theory you should be able to make a video call with your PSP somewhere in a city with your girlfriend sitting at home using the PS3 with the eyetoy.
(requirements: internet acces, tv, ps3, psp, home, girlfriend)

Eye of Judgement and Eyedentify are two games I’m looking forward to, which are using the Playstation eye.

Great stuff. I’m always looking for new ways to communicate. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the BT voice client on the PS3 eventually. Any chance of getting some of us loyal Three Speechers an Eye to review?
Comment by Ben Furneaux — May 24, 2007 @ 9:17 pm
I’ll be keeping a close EYE on my ThreeSpeech RSS feed for more on this. And E3 for an update on Eyedentify (please don’t let it be cancelled!).

I really only see the PSP camera gaining traction if they allow video and voice calling from and to any wifi hotspot. The PS3 cam is something I’m definitely looking forward to though as I can’t wait to see EYe of Judgment released!

The future of interactive Hentai games! Just point the camera at yourself. Make a few unflattering thrusts and blammo! you’ll be watching your dreams come true in HD!

How long til the Go-Cam comes stateside? If that has BT integration I would definitely get one.
Comment by Hiroken — May 25, 2007 @ 6:34 am
i agree with another poster, i already have a video calling on my camera phone and I never use it on that either.
PS3 eye should be developed for entertainment more than communication, look how well the Wii has done, dont Sony want a peice of that pie?
Comment by phil — May 25, 2007 @ 8:17 am
i have video calling too on my phone but i never use it.
I actually thing the eye toy could be fun, might pick it up..now we just need decent eye toy games and…say bye bye to the wii my friends =D

PS3 cam looks interesting indeed, though I think we need them to connect to normal internet web cam peoples to make them very very useful. I’d like to speak this was with my father, but he isn’t likely to buy a PS3.
I can see posibilities. Your team mates contact via an in game screen to inform you of their situation. Yay! Get in there!

add in-game xmb first then focus on this stuff
Comment by kris — May 25, 2007 @ 8:00 pm
In game XMB would be cool but you cant do half of the stuff sony talked about without the Eye.

Stop messing about with fluff like this and concentrate on the games! That’s what PS3 owners want. Games games games.

When is this thing coming out? I want one but not interested in the “eye of jugement” game that comes with it. I just want th eye and the software (vid editing etc)
