When 720p is selected as the video output setting of the PS3â„¢ system, Blu-ray Discs that were recorded in 1080p or 1080i resolution can be played in 720p resolution." Needless to say I was very happy to see this, as I have been waiting patiently for it (I have a 720P LCD HDTV and was forced to use 1080i or down to 480P before.) Now that they have scaling working partially, they'll fix the 720P to 1080i issue... Here it is:
