Here’s the latest PS3 film - this one uses some BMX trickery to bring to life the console’s SIXAXIS controller.

I just hope that games start to include sensitivity controls to tailor the tilt experience. Playing MotorStorm (and vehicles in CoD3) is a blast using tilt, but I find the sensitivity is too high.

sensitivity issues seconded. its all hanging on lair for me.
i dont really see the point of these films if they are only going to be put on the internet for nerds to look at. I want to see that cup stacking one at the cinema. and all over C4 like a rash.
then people might actually get excited about the PS3

hamildan..i’d assume the advertising will come about when sony make their final launch statement (fingers crossed sometime this week) when its finalised ,THEN the ads will come…

Frankly, I can’t help but think that if Sony were to have put the effort and forethought that went into these ‘movies’ into actually getting the PS3 to sell, then Sony would be doing a LOT better than they are now.
How about taking care of the customers that have spent money on Sony products (like Sony televisions) that can’t enjoy Blu-Ray in 720p on your PS3 because of the lack of a hardware scaler? The XBox 360 came up with a software solution–why can’t Sony spend the effort to take care of its customers and come up with one too?

Hamildan these are the European adverts =] The ad campaign is starting mid March.
I really like this one, favourite so far.

I hate these comercials. Can’t they come up with something a little more interesting? This one is even worse than the “cups” (but better than the “baby”) Thank God I don’t live in Europe and don’t have to see these.

Erm, the controller may ‘feel’ what you’re doing, but how exactly is it going to ‘react’? There’s no force feedback …
Rubbish.

Awful, they need a new marketing team.
Comment by Sean1504 — Jan 24, 2007 @ 5:38 pm
I believe this ad is meant to appeal to both the relatively new (compared to Nintendo) breed of Sony loyalists and the mass market. The message is clearly that the PS3 is more than just a game machine (which is true for people whose passion is videogaming).
Does anyone happen to know who did the music? I’ve been desperately turning the whole internet upside down but I can’t seem to find the artist (yes I’m a somewhat compulsive kind of guy). So please ThreeSpeach, could you please look down your unfinite well of knowledge and tell me?
Comment by Twilite — Jan 24, 2007 @ 10:29 pm
Fairly certain the music is by an artist called Aim (formerly of the Grand Central label).
Comment by Three Speech — Jan 24, 2007 @ 10:33 pm
I like these ads, they try to pass a message about the features of the new playstation without the “always same speech” “We are better, blá, blá!”.

Thanks a lot!

The full details:
Title: Birchwood
Artist: Aim
Album: Flight 602

Anyone notice how well this commercial fits to the Wii? “Sense and react to you every move” “Can be found where the old rules don’t apply”
It’s a bit funny.
