Three Speech are staging an evening at PlayStation’s new London venue on December 12. Phil Harrison will be there to answer questions - and there’ll be the opportunity to get hands on with the PS3.
We’ll provide more info on the specifics of the evening shortly. For now, we want to know who’s interested in coming. Email us at blog@threespeech.com if you are. Tell us a bit about yourself; about whether you run a blog; and what questions you’d like to put to Phil Harrison. Obviously you’ll need to be free that night - we do have some allowance for transporting people to London and putting them up overnight.
Drop us a line.
The gaming press sometimes seem to have set opinions or a pre-set agenda.
However it seems that Sony are prepared to talk to the people that matter - the loyal fans.
Excellent!

Sounds like a fantastic idea
I live in South Wales so only a few hours drive/train journey… but I’m not sure if I could make that date. However I’d love to chat with Phil about a number of things, and I think he’d like to hear about our plans too.
Is there anyway Three Speech can pass on my email please? I’ve tried to contact SCEE but no joy…

I’d LOVE to have a word will Phil Harrison, mostly about his obviously ridiculous line on the new PS3 controller. THE GAMERS WANT RUMBLE, PHIL! Motion sensing is a nice gimmick but it is NO alternative to the dualshock’s immersive rumble features. The vast majority of gamers I have spoken to agree, and even the genius Hideo Kojima regrets Sony’s daft decision to remove it.
In summary, I don’t think I’d be able to keep calm in the presence of such an arrogant man, who has lost touch with the gamers so badly.

[...] Hooray! Quite how this will eventually work out is currently unclear, however. Sony won’t be releasing the high-end development tools it gives professional developers to the hoi polloi, so it’s up to the community to figure out how to access the PS3’s complexities. And how games can be distributed is a mystery, too – PS2 Linux developers are unable to release their games to anyone that doesn’t also have PS2 Linux. Will Sony feature PS3 homebrew games on the PlayStation Network? Perhaps we can get Phil Harrison to provide some answers next week… [...]
